Keep care liquids off gilt and lacquer unless the label names them safe; test on the hidden face first, as the label repeats. Cloths wash at 40 and retire when they grey.

Are the care products safe on antiques?
Bench-tested on our own restoration pieces and labelled by material. For anything gilded, painted or dearly loved, the label says test hidden-face first — and the concierge answers photographs within the day.
