ELZORVAN Hearth — the rooms' quiet jewellery

The Palice is scaled to real bouquets rather than photographs: crystal and porcelain vases with water lines ground smooth, bases felted for the sideboard's sake, and cobalt or celadon laid in the house tones.

The kiln rooms fire porcelain at 1,400 degrees until it rings; painters then lay cobalt and gilt by brush, plate by plate, signing the underside of every dozen. Crystal is mouth-blown and hand-cut on stone wheels, annealed overnight, and rung once at the bench — a clear note is the works' idea of a signature.

Care

Porcelain with gilt edges washes by hand — dishwashers dull gold in a hundred cycles. Everyday whites tolerate the machine on glass cycles at 50 degrees.

Stack plates with the felts provided; hairline crazing on antiques is history, on new pieces a bench matter — call us either way.
